Because my wondering is not necessarily something that can be measured, most of my data has come from observations. I have spent a lot of time in the classroom just simply noticing what works for their “best” learning environment and what does not. From day one, it was clear that my students benefited from explicit, clear instruction and learned best through anything hands on because they enjoyed it. After asking a few of my students how they liked to learn best all of them replied with experiments and group work. Just based upon the amount of participation that my students give with independent work vs. something a little more hands on, you can tell that because they enjoy doing something a little more engaging they are more willing to put forth participation.
