Clayton and Forton-

These two chapters were mainly about the meeting area in the classroom for whole group and how important the furniture we choose to use in our space is. I really liked reading about the whole group importance in Chapter three because it talked about it being "the heart of the classroom" and a space where students come to feel comfortable and make connections (Clayton 62). It talked mainly about the fundamentals of where the children will sit, where the teacher will sit and where things will be displayed so that you as a teacher can maximize your meeting area. I love that it talked about this because while it aligns with how I want to use my classroom, it isn't necessarily what I am seeing in my current internship classroom. There are many times I find myself wanting to change my CT's classroom around to better suit the students and make the students feel more comfortable to get engaged. The second chapter talked about making the most of your area as a teacher and using furniture that has multiple uses and makes sense for your space. It even went into talking about how to choose materials that reflect not only a wide range of abilities but also, cultures.
