Data Collection

Through the past couple of weeks I have had the opportunity to start gathering data to support my wonering: How can I differentiate instruction in the classroom for students with IEP's?

One of the first things I made sure to collect was Words their way data. This was especially important because my current classroom is basically split down the middle as far as students with IEP's and those without. Through this data I am able to see what level these students are on so that I am able to better accomodate them.

I am also collecting data through my novel study that I began last week. With each activity or assignment that we complete I make sure to give immediate feedback which I work on and improve with each child. This is super beneficial because I am able to see which areas that each student might need extra support in (spelling, higher order thinking, etc.) and which students might need to be stretched a little more.

I am currently waiting on more data to come in to support my wondering, as they are still testing.
